How did you come to work at Clutch?

Carly from Human Resources reached out to me and connected me with Ryan, our Sales Vice President at the time. Ryan and I spoke and I decided that Clutch was the right next step for me.

What drove you to pursue the IT sales field?

My sales career started in the mining and construction industry in Australia. My job was to meet with my clients and work with them to solve some pretty unique problems on-site, on small to extremely large equipment. I love problem-solving. It's challenging and makes you take a step back to view things from all sides. It’s very rewarding when you work through it and are a part of providing the right solution.

When I moved to Toronto, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay in the same field or try something different. I love getting to know new people and clients, so it was an easy call to make to stick with sales, but this time try a new industry – Tech. Sales has given me the opportunity to meet and work with people from all walks of life, and everyone has their own story. While you continue to work with people professionally, you also get to know your colleagues, partners, clients, and vendors on a personal level, which I think is really special.

What's the most rewarding part of your role? What's the most challenging?

The most rewarding part of my role is being able to work in partnership with my clients, supporting them to resolve their challenges and having a few laughs along the way. Challenges right now across the industry include navigating supply chain delays. Thankfully at Clutch, we work with some really great distributors that help us solve these problems for our clients!

What hobbies or any other activities do you enjoy outside of work?

I grew up on a 23-acre property, so I love to be in the great outdoors. Being an Aussie I am definitely more of a summer person, so now that spring is springing, you’ll find me outside basking in it! North America has some truly incredible National Parks. I try to visit them throughout the year and get some good hikes in. I also love watching live music, reading, and spending time with my family, whether it’s in person or on the phone talking with my parents and siblings back in Australia.

What would you say to someone considering making a career move to Clutch?

If you are thinking of joining Clutch you should reach out to any one of us to have a chat. All the team members here are kind, supportive and incredibly talented. You won’t regret it.
